IISWBM Stamp

India Post released a stamp in the denomination of Rs 5 to commemorate India's oldest Business School, the Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management Kolkata, on April 25, 2004. From time immemorial, India has a tradition of responsible institutions that have had as their aim the bringing out of sound individuals over and above sound scholars. From the ancient times to the modern institutions of learning, the common thread has been the exacting standards for students as well as the centers being not merely givers of knowledge but also centers to foster excellence. The renowned Sankha Samanta designed the stamp and the First Day Cover and Alka Sharma designed the pictorial first day postmark. Brochure containing write-up and technical data was issued on the occasion. This makes IISWBM the first b-school of the country to have its own postal stamp.
